Sadi Gaddi is a YouTube channel run by two passionate food bloggers Priyanka and Rishabh. In a discussion with Thought Habitat, Priyanka and Rishabh are sharing their journey of becoming food bloggers. Also, they are sharing the state of food bloggers in India.

Edited Excerpts:

How did you started your journey as a blogger?

Since childhood we have followed different food channels and it seemed very interesting, but we were not knowing that in our future we are going to follow this. During my CAT exam I realised that this is not made for me. So, I contacted Priyanka and told that we can go and make videos. Gradually we started exploring and creating videos.

What has inspired you to start your food blog?

At the age of 18, I started watching online videos and then I searched how to make YouTube channels, that was my main inspiration. Zaika India Ka has inspired me a lot.

Is it financially sustainable to be a food blogger today? How can someone make money out of it?

As of now, I would say one need to work really hard to be financially sustainable in this career. There are so many brands on Instagram nowadays where you can collaborate with them and help them in promoting their products.

Also, by doing promotions of cafes, restaurants and hotels you can earn a good amount of money. So yeah it’s tough and unconventional, but not impossible.

How do you maintain editorial objectivity with the influx of brand briefs?

For me, it’s always about creating a balance between the expectations of the brand and what my brand offers to the audiences that I cater to. I shape ideas and strategize content that’s the best of both worlds.
